Development (NEPAD) is a pledge by African leaders to eradicate
poverty and to place their countries on a path of sustainable
growth and development. NEPAD aims to establish a "new"
framework of interaction with the rest of the world, including

and Poverty Eradication: A Talisman for the Commonwealth" |
| The report focuses on unacceptable
levels of poverty in the Commonwealth. It demands that Commonwealth
states unequivocally recognize that the persistence of poverty
is a serious human rights violation and one that requires a
genuine rights-based approach as the only effective and immediate
